Hakamaki, Rhoades lead #25 UMD women’s basketball past Michigan Tech

The 25th ranked UMD women’s basketball team, behind Taya Hakamaki and Taytum Rhoades combining for 48 points, defeated Michigan Tech 69-59 on Saturday.
After leading by just two points at halftime, the Bulldogs flipped the switch and outscored Michigan Tech 34-26 in the second half, including winning the 4th quarter by 14 points.
Hakamaki and Rhoades were the biggest story of the night, as Hakamaki poured in 27 points in 27 minutes, while Rhoades added 21 points of her own.
UMD will be back in Romano Gymnasium on Sunday to take on Northern Michigan at 2:00 p.m.
