The Marshall Hilltoppers took on the Hermantown Hawks in their season opener.

Starting off strong, Hermantown’s Ella Shultz manages to sneak in a point, just dropping the ball over the net for a 1-0 lead. Next the Hawks are back with an unreturnable serve from Mikayla Sweeny, and Sweeny doesn’t stop with another serve, this time an ace. Hermantown’s Brooklyn Jensen manages to find a gap and rips the ball right into it.

The Hawks take the win 25-9, 25-13, 25-8.

Hermantown will return to the court August 27th to battle Esko. Marshall will also return on the 27th to take on New Ulm.
