Hermantown boys hockey rolls past Delano
They suffered their first loss on the season to Rosemount Friday falling 3-1, then Wednesday the Hermantown boys hockey team would rebound in a big way defeating Delano 5-1 at the Hermantown Hockey Arena.
The Hawks’ five goals would come from five different skaters with Will Esterbrooks, Andrew Johnson Jr. and River Freeman scoring in the first period to lead 3-0. AJ Francisco and Evan Gunderson found the back of the net in the second to enter the final frame up 5-1. There would be no scoring in the third.
Hermantown netminders Dane Callaway recorded 21 saves and Bryce Francisco recorded two. Delano’s Ethan Engelmann made 40 saves, Teague Collings scored their sole goal.
Hermantown improves to 5-1-2 and next hosts East Grand Forks Thursday at 3:30 p.m.
