Hermantown native Max Plante signs NLI to play hockey for UMD
On Wednesday Hermantown native Max Plante officially signed his National Letter of Intent to play for the University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) men’s hockey team.
The former Hermantown Hawk is currently in Michigan skating with the USA Hockey National Team Development Program (NTDP). During the 2022-2023 season he tallied 46 points for their U17 team and 24 points for the USNTDP Juniors. He also had the opportunity to compete in the U.S. World Under-17 Hockey Challenge where he recorded 10 assists.
So far this year the 17 year old has tallied 14 points in 10 games.
Playing varsity for Hermantown during the 2021-2022 season the sophomore recorded 18 goals and 54 assists.
