Hermantown shuts out Proctor; Superior boy’s hockey spoils Hibbing/Chisholm winning streak

Across the bridge, Superior boy’s hockey welcomed Hibbing/ Chisholm Bluejackets to town as there were looking to pick up their third win.
The Spartans got on the board first with a goal by Lucas Williams. Beau Frider ripped in the first goal for the bluejackets. The Spartans went on to spoil the Bluejacket’s visit, winning 2-1.
The Spartans will hit the ice again on Friday on the road at Duluth Denfeld. The puck drops at 7 p.m. The
Bluejackets will be back on the ice Friday at home hosting Crookston. The game starts at 7 p.m.
It was rivalry night on Thursday at the St. Luke’s arena as the Proctor Rails and Hermantown boy’s hockey clashed for a northland neighborly bragging rights.
The Rails entered to game with a three-game winning streak under their belt, looking to increase to four, but the Hawks stopped them in their tracks shutting them out 7-0.
Samuel Swenson led the Hawks in scoring with two goals. The Hawks will drop the puck again on Saturday on the road against Mahtomedi at 1 p.m.
The Rails will hit the ice again on Saturday on the road against East Ridge. Puck drops at 3 p.m.
