Hibbing/Chisholm’s Jamnick named Class A Coach of the Year, T. Swanson named to all-tournament team
The Minnesota Hockey Coaches Association named Hibbing/Chisholm Bluejackets head coach Aaron Jamnick as the Class A Coach of the Year after he took the team to their first state tournament since 2011.
The playoff run itself accounted for the Bluejackets best season overall since 2004. Jamnick just completed his first season as head coach.
Additionally, Tate Swanson was named to the Class A All-tournament team, after an impressive showing on the states biggest stage. The junior forward tallied 2 goals and an assist in the Bluejackets win over Luvurne, and added another goal and assist in the Bluejackets semifinal loss to East Grand Forks. Swanson had an excellent season overall as well, leading the team in points with 64, goals with 22, and assists with 42.
Proctor coach Cory Ward was also named the Class A Assistant Coach of the Year after leading the Rails to 14 wins and a trip to the Section 7A semifinals.
