High scoring second half lifts Duluth FC past Sioux Falls

Duluth FC scored four goals in the second half of their home game Wednesday night to secure a 6-1 victory over the Sioux Falls Thunder.

Edu Nys and Jireh Oyebamiji started the scoring early in the first half. Nys’ goal came in the sixth minute, and Oyebamiji’s in the 17th to give the BlueGreens a 2-0 lead at halftime.

Sioux Falls scored first in the second half to cut Duluth’s lead down to 2-1. Then Nys responded scoring his second of the night. Dylan Sumner, a club veteran who made his season debut for the team after joining midseason, added another for the 4-1 lead. Oyebamiji and Tyler Limmer rounded out the scoring for Duluth to secure the 6-1 win.

Duluth FC (6-1-2) returns to action June 22 when they visit Joy Athletic in St. Louis Park. They now have four regular season game remaining.
