Huskies punch their ticket to the playoffs, and name three All-Stars

The Huskies came back after clinching their spot in the Northwoods League playoffs Friday night to complete their series against the Honkers.

The Honkers brought in the first run in the top of the first with a single to right field allowing Paul Shoenfeld to make it home. In the bottom of the fourth Nolan Barry takes a shot that allows a run to come home for the Huskies, and Tyler Palmer sacrifices himself so Joe Vos can come in to score. Huskies are now only down by one at 3-2.

Huskies won the game 5-4 and are set to battle the Lacrosse Loggers on Sunday August 11th in Wisconsin and will return to Wade Stadium for their final regular season game on Monday.

Three Huskies were selected for the Northwoods League Post-season All-Star team, hose being Charlie Sutherland, Jayden Duplantier, and Isaac Rohde.

Sutherland was also a mid-season All-Star selection and batted a .289 average in sixty-six games and 235 at bats. On the mound he pitched four games with five strikeouts and seven hits in twenty-five batters faced.

Duplantier batted a .312 Average in fifty games and 173 at bats. And on the field he averaged a .923 Fielding percentage in 431 innings played.

Rohde pitched fifteen games for the huskies, and tallied forty-eight strikeouts and 32 hits on 216 batters faced.
