The Huskies rode a seven-game winning streak into their Friday night evening game. They went looking to make that eight straight and close out their series with the Thunder Bay Border Cats at Wade Stadium.
On Thursday, the Huskies sunk out a tight 6-5 win against the Border Cats and went into cruise control to grab another win.
Huskies got on the board first with a Bandon Compton line drive to centerfield, allowing Raymond Velazquez to round third base and score the game’s first run.
In the second inning, the Border Cats evened up the score as Brayden Kuriger sent a ground up the middle of the field while Tyler Kehoe slid home.
Huskies added another run in the sixth inning, but they fell in the end 15-2. They will now trek to Thunder Bay for a two-game weekend series.
