Huskies win in thrilling fashion, snap five game losing streak
On Friday night, the Huskies snapped a five game losing streak and beat the Waterloo Bucks, 5-4 in 11 innings.
The Huskies would find their bats beginning in the bottom of the second with Max Coupe dribbling a shot up the middle, allowing Boots Landry to come racing home. Huskies lead 1-0.
Still in the second Cal Elvis would drill his own shot out off the back wall bringing the Huskies to a 2-0 lead.
Bottom of the third Coupe comes back again to blast his own off the wall to score two more of his teammates, Huskies going up 4-0.
The Bucks would close the gap by bringing in three runs in the sixth inning and one in the seventh, tying everything up at 4-4, forcing the game into two extra innings as both teams struggle to bring anyone over home plate.
Finally in the bottom of the eleventh inning Coupe returns to set the Huskies ahead with a single that gives Joe Vos enough time to score.
Huskies win this game 5-4, ending the negative streak in nail-biting fashion.
