Some changes to the Northland prep sports landscape will be made next year.

In the 2024-2025 season the Iron Range Conference will welcome Ely volleyball and boys and girls basketball, as well as Two Harbors boys and girls basketball.

Ely is currently part of the Arrowhead Conference, and Two Harbors is a member of the Polar League Conference.

The Agates and Timberwolves will join current IRC members in Chisholm, Deer River, Greenway, International Falls and Mesabi East.

Additionally, the league will also add a boys and girls golf championship in 2024. This marks the first time the IRC will sponsor girls golf, and first time since 1978 they will sponsor boys golf.
