Klayton Knapp named NCHC Rookie of the Week for second time in three weeks
For the UMD men’s hockey team, a split between the Bulldogs and #5 Denver was a nice resume booster for the Bulldogs, and that was anchored by goaltender Klayton Knapp, who was named the NCHC Rookie of the Week for the second time in three weeks.
On Friday night, Knapp made a career-high 42 saves in the game to help UMD get the 4-3 win. Knapp’s 70 save series was the most saves by any goaltender in the conference.
It’s the third week in a row that a Bulldog has won the award, as Max Plante took it home last Monday.
