Last second goal lifts No. 4 Hayward Co-op girls hockey past No. 3 Superior

On Thursday, No. 4 Hayward Co-op would net a last-second goal to bring home their 11th win in a row, defeating No. 3 Superior 3-2.

In the first period, the Hayward Hurricanes would bring the early fire with a shot by Mikayla Bigo, but Superior’s Kaylie Nault would make the block to keep things scoreless. Superior’s Makaela Reinke would bring the puck down all on her own, but Hayward’s Makenna Hutchison would keep things at zeros. Halfway through the first period, it would be Hayward’s Reese Sheehan who would break the scoreless streak, putting the Hurricanes on the board. The score would soon turn to 2-2, but with two seconds left in the third period, Hayward would come out on top with a final goal from Olivia Webster to make the score 3-2.
