Luke Loheit named UMD men’s hockey captain, Olson & James alternates

He wore an ‘A’ last year and next season Luke Loheit will take over the venerable role of Captain of the three-time national championship winning University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) men’s hockey team.
The Bulldogs announced their trio of captains for the 2023-2024 season Wednesday.
A fifth year senior forward Loheit will wear the ‘C’, while fellow fifth year forward Quinn Olson and junior forward Dominic James will serve as alternate captains.
Last season Loheit rolled out a career high 19 points with eight goals and 11 assists. This marks the second straight season Olson will wear an ‘A’ and the first year for James.
UMD opens their season at home hosting Michigan Tech October 7.
