Thanks to two goals from Mannon McMahon, the #8 UMD women’s hockey team is headed to the WCHA semifinals after beating #10 St. Cloud State 2-0.

The game saw minimal action for the majority of the first and second periods, until McMahon found the back of the net towards the end of the second period to give UMD a 1-0 lead.

In the third, it was McMahon once again who capitalized, giving UMD a 2-0 cushion, which would be plenty, as the Bulldogs shut out the Huskies all weekend.

Freshman Ève Gascon’s 27 save shutout has given her the the program record for most shutouts by a rookie in their first season.

Up next for UMD is the winner of the Minnesota – Minnesota State matchup.
