Moose Lake/Willow River boys, Hayward girls race to first place in Dennis Simpson Invite
The Moose Lake/Willow River boys and Hayward girls track and field teams took first place in the Dennis Simpson Invitational hosted by Northwestern at the University of Wisconsin-Superior (UWS) on Thursday.
In the girls 55 meter hurdles South Shore’s Addy LaFontaine took first place racing a personal record setting time of 10.14 seconds. Addison Hanson takes second for Northwestern with a time of 10.57.
In the girls 55 meter dash, Hayward’s Natalie Grubbs finished first with a time of 7.88 seconds. She finished only 0.04 seconds ahead of the Tigers’ Shayna Wick taking second in 7.92 seconds.
In the boys 55 meter dash, Moose Lake/Willow River’s Kaden Robbins place first in 6.68 seconds. He was ahead of Solon Springs/Northwood’s Cade Lisson by 0.03 seconds, who’s second place time was 6.71.
As teams, the Hayward girls won with 133 points, and the Moose Lake/Willow River boys won with 88 points.
