Lumberjack and Rebel seniors hit career milestones
Two Northland athletes reached career milestones this weekend. Moose Lake/Willow Rivers Madison Wasche scored the 1,000th point of her high school basketball career this weekend.
Wasche needed 21 points and got it on a free throw while playing against East Central on Friday. The Rebels beat East Central 71-47 and are now 13-13 on the season.
The Rebels will take on Aitkin in the first round of the section 7AA playoffs.
Karson Young of Cloquet/Esko/Carlton registered the 100th point of his high school career on Saturday.
Young scored in the first period against Proctor, and also registered an assist in the second period.
Young is fifth on the Lumberjacks in points with 37, and has eight goals and 29 assists to his name this season. Young also serves as a captain for the Lumberjacks, and helped lead them to their first section semifinal win since 2017.
