Thursday night Mountain Iron-Buhl football emerged victorious in a battle of unbeatens with Cherry. Both entered MIB’s home with 6-0 records, but it was the Rangers that would earn the 28-6 victory to improve to 7-0 while the Tigers fell to 6-1.
The first half was a defensive stalemate that would end scoreless. MIB finally broke through in the third quarter scoring two touchdowns, adding two two-point conversions, to lead 16-0. The Tigers found the endzone in the fourth quarter, but the Rangers did twice more to win 28-6.
This marked MIB’s lowest scoring game all season, and the most points Cherry has allowed.
MIB will fight to close out their second straight perfect regular season Wednesday hosting Bigfork. Cherry finishes their regular season Wednesday hosting Lake of the Woods.
