On Thursday the Minnesota State High School League (MSHSL) held a board meeting where they voted on at least seven action items.
One main item of note was that boys volleyball was voted to become a spring sport. It will begin the 2024-2025 school year.
The state softball tournament was approved to expand from two days to three at North Mankato’s Caswell Park. That will go into effect the 2024 spring season.
Additionally, 400 meter wheelchair events were approved to be added to the track and field postseason.
Also, team state tournament seeding options were voted on. They must be uniform throughout sports with multiple classes, or sports with both boys and girls programs. State football semifinal seeding was voted down.
When uploaded by the MSHSL the full minutes from the October 5 board meeting will be available here.
