Mud Puppies wash over Huskies
Duluth Huskies returned to Wade Stadium on Thursday evening to begin their series against the Minnesota Mud Puppies.
In the bottom of the third, Cal Elvis would ground a ball straight to left field, Jayden Duplantier rounded third went straight home to put the Huskies on the board 1-0. Then, Tyler Palmer shot one out into right field and Elvis scored to make it 2-0 Duluth. Joe Vos then drove a shot to second base, and a missed play brought Thibodeaux home for the 3-0 Huskies lead.
The Mud Puppies found their footing in the top of the fifth when Matthew Maulilk ripped a shot into right field, bringing in Harrison Bowman. Mitch Cummins then scored Caden Headlee to trail the Huskies 3-2.
In the end the Mud Puppies would score six unanswered runs, holding the Huskies at 3, to win 6-3. Their series finale is Friday at 6:35 p.m. at Wade Stadium.
