Tuesday was the deadline for NFL teams to cut their 90 man rosters down to 53. University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) alum Brent Laing would be on of the 37 players waived by the New York Jets.
Competeing in all four preseason matches at the guard position Laing does remain eligible to make their practice squad. On Wednesday the Jets signed 10 members to the practice squad but six spots are still available.
An offensive lineman for the Bulldogs Laing signed with the Jets as an undrafted free agent back in April.
