No. 1 Cherry boys basketball dominates Class A quarterfinal to advance in state tournament
The top-seeded, defending Class A champion Cherry boys basketball team dominated their state quarterfinal Thursday defeating BOLD 89-57 at Target Center.
The Tigers outshot the Warriors 44-33 in the first half, then upped their defense in the second only allowing 24 points to their own 45. Noah Sundquist led Cherry with 28 points, while Noah Asuma had 21, Isaiah Asuma posted 18, and Carson Brown added 17.
The Tigers, making their fourth straight state trip, now advance to their fourth straight state semifinal. No. 1 Cherry, now 30-1 overall, will next tipoff against No. 4 Nevis (27-4) who beat No. 5 Henning 58-52 in their quarterfinal.
