No. 1 Cherry boys basketball upends defending champs Russell-Tyler-Ruthton in Class A quarterfinals
Thursday morning the top-seeded Cherry boys basketball team knocked off defending state champions Russell-Tyler-Ruthton 78-46 in the Class A state quarterfinals at Target Center in Minneapolis.
The Tigers outshot the Knights 46-24 in the first half and 32-22 in the second half. No. 1 Cherry now improves to 29-2 earning their 22nd straight win. They advance to face No. 5 Nevis (24-7) in the state semifinals Friday at 12 p.m. at Williams Arena in Minneapolis. The winner advances to the Class A championship game Saturday at 11 a.m. For the full Class A bracket, Click Here.
