On Thursday the College of St. Scholastica (CSS) women’s hockey team suffered a 6-0 loss in their home opener against No. 1 Gustavus Adolphus College at Mars Lakeview Arena.

The Saints held the Gusties to just one goal a piece in the first and second periods, to enter the third trailing 2-0. However Gustavus would add on four more goals to secure the 6-0.

Ashlea Arvidson made 37 saves in net for CSS while the Gusties’ goaltender Katie McCoy made 17.

CSS (0-3) will next travel to St. Peter Saturday to close out their Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference series with Gustavus (2-0).
