It doesn’t happen often for the University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) volleyball team but this weekend they are taking on the role of underdogs.
Saturday the 10th ranked 10-2 Bulldogs will fight to topple the top team in Division II, number one 12-1 Wayne State College.
“Execution and defense, they don’t make errors. If they have an out of system ball they get it over the net and they wait for you to error,” UMD senior outside hitter Cianna Selbitschka shared.
“The significance of a win in a match like that can be season changing for you. That’s really the mentality you have to have is no fear. I’d rather see them make aggressive mistakes on Saturday than tentative ones,” head coach Jim Boos said.
The Bulldogs will first need to get past Augustana University Friday in their Hall of Fame game at 5 p.m. at Romano Gym.
Then Saturday it’s time for their homecoming match against Wayne State. First serve is 4 p.m. at Romano Gym.
