Friday night the 17th ranked University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) men’s hockey team skates back home for their first full series of the season.
Forcing a 2-2 tie, then shootout win, over number 10 Michigan Tech last Saturday, the Bulldogs are carrying some momentum into another non-conference foe in Northern Michigan University.
“Just a better start, hopefully getting a little better defensively. That’s not just D zone it’s, hopefully we’re cleaning up some of the things that were a little bit new. There’s a couple changes that are going to take some time so I want to see improvement in those,” head coach Scott Sandelin said regarding his expectations for this weekend.
Over 6,000 fans showed up for their season opener last Saturday.
Puck drop Friday and Saturday against Northern Michigan is set for 7 p.m. at AMSOIL Arena.
