No.7 UMD women’s hockey fall to No.2 Minnesota
For the first time in the last three years the University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) women’s hockey team will not skate in the NCAA Frozen Four, as they fell to Minnesota in the Regional Final 3-0 Saturday.
The Gophers and Bulldogs were tied in the shot department in the game, both registering 30 a piece.
The first period was scoreless before Madeline Wethington had a shot go in for the game’s first goal.
Minnesota added two more goals in the third, none of which on an empty net.
As the Bulldogs finish the season with an overall record of 26-10-3.
