The 7th-ranked University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) women’s hockey team will be riding an upset win over No. 1 Ohio State into a matinee home series with St. Thomas.
The Bulldogs are 4-0 all-time against St. Thomas as the school is now in its second season in the WCHA.
UMD will be working hard to tap into their defense, while boasting the fifth lowest goals against average, and offense, scoring 19 goals in their last two series, to improve to 8-6 in conference play.
“Regardless of who’s over there we’re going to be the same team and the scores might be different based on who we are playing, but we should be going at teams the same way regardless of who they are, what they’re ranked what anybody wants to tell us and that’s what I’m hoping for this weekend,” said Head Coach Maura Crowell.
Puck is set to drop on Friday at 3 p.m., with Saturday’s game serving as Sophie’s Squad Mental Health Awareness Day.
