Northland wrestlers qualify for Minnesota, Wisconsin state tournaments

Northland wrestlers head to state tournaments
A plethora of wrestlers in the Northland have showed their strength and are also heading to their respective states’ tournaments.
Three girls from Ashland wrestling will head to Madison, Wisconsin for the state meet. Matilda Burns, Madison Burns, and Bella Roman all qualified for state. On the boys side of things, Briar Burkhart and Ivan Woodhull of Northwestern will also be heading to Madison after placing second and third in their weights respectively. Both Tigers will wrestle on Thursday, February 27th at 6 p.m. in the Kohl Center.
In Minnesota, Cloquet’s Cavan Fjeld has also earned himself a trip to the Xcel Energy Center. The Minnesota State Tournament begins on February 27th and goes until March 1st.
