Packers host undefeated Vikings in key early NFC North showdown

The Minnesota Vikings put their undefeated record on the line Sunday when they visit the Green Bay Packers in a key NFC North matchup.

This game marks Vikings running back Aaron Jones’ return to Lambeau Field as a visiting player after he spent seven seasons with the Packers. The Packers have won two straight games with Malik Willis filling in at quarterback while Jordan Love recovers from a knee injury. Love’s status for this game is uncertain as he practices for a second consecutive week.

Game time is Sunday at noon on CBS.

The last time these two teams met, it was December 31 and the Packers took home the win, beating the Minnesota Vikings 33-10.

This is Minnesota’s first September game at Green Bay since consecutive early season trips to Lambeau Field in 2018 and 2019. Looking through the stats, the road team won each of the two matchups last season, with the Vikings winning 24-10 in Green Bay and the Packers winning 33-10 in Minnesota.

Quarterback Kirk Cousins tore his Achilles tendon during Minnesota’s victory at Green Bay last year, and that ended up being the last game he played for the Vikings. The Vikings and Packers have split their past eight meetings.
