On Monday, two Minnesota Duluth athletes were chosen for Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) weekly awards.
First up is Curtis Cox, who led the entire NSIC in points scored with the most out of any position.
15 of the 33 points the Bulldogs scored on Saturday came off of the Redshirt Senior’s right foot.
Cox not only hit field goals from 21, 33, 38 and 40 yards out, but also tied an NSIC record for the season with those four field goals.
The Bulldogs return home on Saturday for a homecoming game against Winona state.
The other athlete is UMD goalie Jennifer Norris, who was named the NSIC Goalkeeper of the Week after a 12 save weekend, including two shutouts.
She’s played in every single minute of bulldogs soccer this season and totaled 46 saves throughout eight games.
Norris and the bulldogs will take the trip out of town to take on Concordia St. Paul on Friday, followed by Minnesota State Mankato on Sunday.
