Port Wing’s Gustafson to represent Spain in 2024 Olympics
After winning the National Player of the Year award in college basketball and having her number retired, there aren’t too many accomplishments left to add to a resume, but somehow, Megan Gustafson has done it.
The Port Wing native and South Shore High School alum will represent Spain in the 2024 Olympic games.
The former Iowa Hawkeye and national player of the year helped Spain qualify for the Olympics on Sunday with a 73-72 win over Hungary.
Gustafson recently applied for Spanish citizenship in June of 2023.
Before the Olympics, Gustafson will suit up for her new team, the Las Vegas Aces, for the start of the 2024 WNBA season.
