Port Wing’s Megan Gustafson makes history helping London Lions win Women’s EuroCup
She set records at South Shore High School and the University of Iowa, and now Port Wing native Megan Gustafson has made history once again, this time from across the pond. On Wednesday Gustafson and her London Lions women’s basketball team defeated Besiktas of Istanbul 81-70 to win the Women’s EuroCup.
Earning that crown the Lions became the first-ever British team to win a European championship.
A starter in the title game, Gustafson played the second most minutes at 35, scoring 18 points while adding seven rebounds.
Next, on May 11 Gustafson will tip-off the WNBA season with the Las Vegas Aces.
