Prep Basketball: Esko and Hibbing come out on top
On Friday, Esko boys’ basketball topped Cloquet, and Hibbing took down Hermantown.
In Esko, both teams came in undefeated, with Cloquet at a 2-0 record and Esko at 1-0. Esko took the early lead with baskets from Braxdyn Male, Graham Hartlieb, and Sam Haugen. Cloquet attempted to bridge the gap with shots from players like Noah Hansen and Jacob Nelson. Esko continued their winning streak over the Lumberjacks, winning 86-69.
Esko will return to play Grand Rapids on Tuesday, December 10th at 7:15PM. Cloquet will return to play Moose Lake/Willow River on Tuesday, December 10th at 7:15PM.

In Hermantown, hosting Hibbing’s first road matchup of the season, the Hawks looked to rebound after a high scoring loss.
Hibbing built a 25-point lead thanks to Raymond Brau, Finn Eskeli, and Adam Reckmeyer. The Hawks made an attempt to regroup with shots from players like Landon Burg. Hibbing reigned supreme, winning 86-56.
Hibbing will return to play International Falls on Tuesday, December 10th at 7:15PM. Cloquet will return to play Columbia Heights on Tuesday, December 10th at 7:15PM.
