In prep basketball on Thursday the Rock Ridge boys and Superior girls earned road wins.

The Rock Ridge boys defeated Proctor 87-32 in the Rails home opener. The Wolverines (3-2) next battle Nashwauk-Keewatin in the North Star State Hardwood Showcase in Hibbing December 27. The Rails (3-3) face Deer River Dec. 27 for Crosby-Ironton’s Ranger Holiday Tournament.

In Duluth, Superior would defeat the Duluth East girls 71-56 to improve to 6-2. Eva Peterson led the Spartans with 18 points, while Candace Ndomb led East with 17 points. Superior takes on Forest Lake Dec. 27 in Duluth East’s Holiday Tournament. The Greyhounds (3-6) tip-off that same day against Coon Rapids.
