Prep Boy’s Hockey: Duluth Denfeld falls in holiday classic opener, Ely rallies past Moose Lake Area
On Tuesday the Duluth Denfeld boy’s hockey team fell to Irondale 3-2 in the first round of their Heritage Holiday Classic at the Duluth Heritage Center.
Owen Hindermann scored first for the Hunters to lead 1-0 after the second period; the goal marking the first of his collegiate career. Denfeld now sits 4-5-1 on the season.
Ely boy’s hockey opened the second annual Bill McGann Holiday Classic with a 4-1 comeback victory over Moose Lake Area at the St. Luke’s Sports & Event Center.

Dalton Salma scored the sole goal for the Rebels in the first period, then Ely scored four unanswered goals with two coming from Deegan Richards to secure the win.
The Timberwolves (4-6) are next set to face Red Lake Wednesday at noon at Mars Lakeview Arena. The Rebels (3-4) are set to face Bagley/Fosston in Proctor at noon Wednesday.
