In prep girls hockey on Tuesday Duluth, Duluth Marshall and Grand Rapids/Greenway all earned wins.
The Duluth Northern Stars picked up their first win of the season holding off North Shore 3-2 in the Storm’s season opener. The game marked the third of a four game home stand for Duluth at the Essentia Duluth Heritage Center. Four goals came in the first period with Berkley Hoff scoring first for the Storm. Then Haili Truitt scored her first varsity goal to tie the game, with Lucy Fellman and Grace Karakas scoring to make it 3-1 at intermission. Duluth improves to 1-2 while the Storm sit 0-1.
At Mars Lakeview Arena, Duluth Marshall rolled past Northern Lakes 11-1 in their home opener. Ilsa Lindaman got a hat-trick and more scoring four goals with four assists for eight points on the night. Giulia McGiffert, Aubrey Johnson, and Annie Bachand all tallied four points. In all eight skaters landed on the scores/assist sheet. The Hilltoppers improve to 2-1.
In Bemidji, Grand Rapids/Greenway won their season opener holding off Bemidji 3-2. Mercury Bischoff scored two goals for the Lightning and Opal Anderson scored one for her first varsity goal.
