Prep Girls Tennis: Cloquet-Esko-Carlton earns 1st win on new court, Duluth East downs Hermantown
In prep girls tennis on Wednesday, Cloquet-Esko-Carlton and Duluth East earned home wins.
For Cloquet-Esko-Carlton, it marked their first match played on the new Cloquet High School courts. They would defeat Stella Maris 7-0. This is also the Lumberjacks’ first year under new head coach Emily Hallgren.
CEC Singles:
- Emilie Matinnen: 6-2, 6-1
- Paige Goranson: 6-1, 6-4
- Ellie Krube: 6-0, 6-3
- DJ Vernon: 6-0, 6-0
CEC Doubles:
- Maddy Erickson and Rylie Goranson: 6-0, 6-1
- Grace McIlvain and Morgan Olesiak: 6-0, 6-2
- Erin Keating and Dru Danielson: 6-1, 6-0
Duluth East defeated Hermantown 6-1 at the Longview Tennis Club.
Hermantown’s Evie Sullivan defeated Christine Duncan on the number two singles court to avoid the sweep.
