Prep hockey: Superior girls; Denfeld boys bank wins

On Saturday, Duluth Denfeld boys’ hockey topped Duluth East, and Superior girls’ hockey bested Black River Falls.

In Duluth, the Hunters beat the Greyhounds 2-1 in overtime, which improved Denfeld’s record to 3-7 for the season. John Scott and Alexander Udd would net goals for the Hunters, while Kyle Peterson would net one for the Greyhounds. Denfeld’s goalie Liam Fish would make 32 saves, and Duluth East’s goalie Nolan Nygaard would make 34 saves.

In Superior, the Spartans beat the Tigers 2-1, which improved them to a 3-game win streak. Superior’s Evie Jankins would only allow one goal all game, and Makaela Reinke would bring one goal for the Spartans.
