Prep soccer: Cloquet/Carlton, Hermantown earn road victories, Two Harbors and Proctor draw
Plenty of soccer in the Northland on Monday night, as Cloquet/Carlton girls soccer beat Duluth Denfeld 2-0, Hermantown boys soccer defeated Duluth Marshall 1-0, and Two Harbors and Proctor tied at 0-0.
At Denfeld, the Hunters were mostly able to contain the Lumberjacks, as Cayley Larsen stood tall in goal and tallied 19 saves.
However, two first half Lumberjack goals, with one from Mackenzie Lynch and the other from Makena Smith would be the deciding factors.
The Lumberjacks next take on Proctor on Thursday while the Hunters face Duluth East on Thursday.
Both Proctor and Two Harbors were unable to find the back of the net, resulting in a scoreless tie in what was a true defensive battle.
Proctor faces Cloquet/Carlton on Thursday while Two Harbors is off to Esko on Tuesday.
Lastly, the Hermantown boys soccer team only needed one goal, thanks to exceptional defense against the Hilltoppers.
The Hawks lone goal came from Owen Landrigan in the first half.
The Hawks look to extend their winning streak on Thursday against Grand Rapids while the Hilltoppers look for revenge against Hibbing/Chisholm on Friday.
