Prep Soccer: Cloquet boys & girls, Denfeld boys advance to Section 7AA finals

The Cloquet-Carlton girls earned themselves a trip back to the final after winning 3-0 against Duluth Denfeld. Makayla Stirewalt led the way for the two with two goals.
The second seeded Lumberjacks will have a chance to earn their fourth straight section title when they visit top-seeded Grand Rapids Tuesday. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.

The defending 7AA champion Cloquet-Esko-Carlton boys topped Grand Rapids 4-3 to advance to the Section 7AA finals. Erik Johnson and Jordan Alutman netted the first two goals for the Lumberjacks.
Also heading to title game is Duluth Denfeld after their win against Hermantown. The Hunters earned the 1-0 victory after regulation, and two overtimes, ended scoreless and they took the shootout 4-2. Hunters’ goalie Camden Rask had ten saves on the night.
Second seeded Duluth Denfeld and top-seeded Cloquet-Esko-Carlton will face off against each other in the finals Tuesday at Proctor’s Egerdahl Field at 7 p.m.
