Prep soccer: Proctor boys fall in home opener while Esko puts on offensive display
On Saturday, the Proctor boys soccer team fell to Legacy Christian Academy 2-0 in their home opener, while Esko girls beat Proctor 6-1 on their home turf.
For the Rails, their offense was out of sync all match, and try as they might with their defense, they allowed a goal in both the first and second half.
The Rails turn to face Grand Rapids on Tuesday.
Esko, the defending Section 7A champions, had no problem handling Proctor today, despite falling into an early 1-0 hole thanks to a goal from Gianna Hansen.
Kaitlyn McConnell found the back of the net twice for Esko, while Reese Kuklinski, Paiton Plant, Sophia Naud, and Celia Preiner all contributed a goal of their own.
Esko looks to build their win streak against Cloquet/Carlton on Tuesday, while Proctor looks to bounce back against Hibbing/Chisholm on Tuesday.
