Prep Soccer: Superior boy’s & Denfeld girls win; Duluth Marshall and Cloquet-Carlton draw

Thursday was all about soccer in the Northland with action happening from Superior to Duluth.
Superior boys soccer scored six goals in their last outing on Tuesday and returned home searching for a repeat performance in an intra-state clash with Hayward. The Spartan got on the board within four minutes with a goal by Ben Staupe. They tacked on two more goals, all in the first half by Eli Benson and Spencer Kidd, going on to shut out the Hurricanes 6-0.
Over in Duluth, Proctor rolled into town to face off against Duluth Denfeld in their regular season home finale; with both teams riding high off of shut-out wins on Tuesday. The Hunters secured their first goal with 30 seconds left until halftime by Adell Wormuth. In the end, Hunters won 2-0 improving to an overall record of (7-3).
Duluth Marshall welcomed Cloquet/Carlton for an afternoon battle. Scoreless in the second half until Hilltoppers Giulia McGiffert found the back on the net for the score. The game ended in a 2-2 draw.
