Prep Volleyball: Duluth East wins, Duluth Marshall and Esko fall in regular season finales
On Thursday, a cross-town clash landed on the prep volleyball courts, with Duluth East on a seven-game tear entering the house of the Duluth Marshall Hilltoppers.
In set one, Hilltoppers served things up but it’s the Greyhounds that would start off hot with Piper Witzman who put the ball right in the hole to lead 1-0. Marshall tried to close the gap with a shot from Presley Johnsrud that just grazed the Greyhound’s defense before it hit the court for another Hilltopper point on the board. The Greyhounds would hold their lead with Sarah Greicar going in for the kill, Duluth East took the set and the match 3-0.
Duluth Marshall will begin the Section 7AA tournament on Wednesday, October 23rd at the Hermantown High School. Their opponent and start time are still to be determined.
