Proctor welcomes back Zak McPhee from state championships
On Saturday, Zak McPhee took to the mats and tried to do something thats even more impressive than it sounds – go undefeated in wrestling, and win a state championship.
McPhee did just that, and on Sunday, was welcomed back to Proctor.
McPhee finishes his season with a perfect 53-0 record, but things weren’t always easy, as yesterday’s match saw a come from behind sudden victory.
“Just trusting myself and just knowing that I’m going to get better,” said McPhee. “Proud of what I did. I think I didn’t leave a lot on the table. But I mean, it is what it is. I just thought I could finish on top of that.”
McPhee now turns to look at the future, as he plans on going to the University of Wisconsin Eau Claire to continue his wrestling career.
