Proctor’s Nick Terhaar signs on to play Big Ten baseball with Iowa
Schools across the Northland Wednesday celebrated National Signing Day. One was Proctor High School, who’s own Nick Terhaar committed to play Division I baseball for the Iowa Hawkeyes.
“Proctor’s not really like a known place for any big athletes or anything, so I think it’s really cool that I was able to develop into one out of Proctor,” Terhaar said. “I think that Proctor, most people think we’re just kind of like a small railroad town, don’t have much, but really we have a really great community here. We all love and care for each other like a family, we’re just all one big family here.”
A junior last year, the 6’3” Terhaar is a two-time captain outfielder and pitcher for Proctor. In the past he has earned All-Section 7AA Team honors and Lake Superior All-Conference 1st Team honors.
