Rock Ridge advances in Section 7AA tournament with win over Duluth Marshall

We kicked Super Saturday off with game one of the Boys’ Section 7AA Hockey Semifinals between #1 seed Rock Ridge vs #5 Duluth Marshall at the Amsoil Arena.

The Wolverines got on the board first with a goal from Junior Caz Carlson on an assist from Colton Bialke. It was Carlson’s 23rd goal of the season. Rock Ridge went up 2-0 in the first with a goal from Grady Dimberio with an assist to Bialke and Derik Dahl. The Hilltoppers responded 20 seconds later with a goal from Sophomore Braydon Hannula from Samuel Berry. It was Hannula’s 16th goal of the season. Score is 2-1 at the end of one.

Marshall scored first in the second period with a goal from Freshman Max Berrisford with an assist from Bennett Scissons. Rock Ridge takes the lead once more in the second with a shot from Calen Scott, before a second goal just over a minute later by Dimberio – making his second of the game. Colton Bialke would make the game 5-2 with a third netted shot for the Wolverines in the second period.

In the third period, the lone goal would come under a minute away from the end of the game from the Hilltopper’s Elijah Thorson.

Rock Ridge wins the game 5-3, and advances to the Section 7AA championship game on Thursday, February 27th at 7PM.
