Rock Ridge girls basketball falls to Marshall in Class AAA state quarterfinals
The Rock Ridge girls basketball team tipped off in their second straight state tournament on Wednesday, however No. 3 Marshall (28-1) proved too much for the No. 6 Wolverines winning the Class AAA quarterfinal 67-51 at Maturi Pavilion in Minneapolis.
The Wolverines were outshot 35-21 in the first half, but roared back to only be outshot 32-30 in the second half. Anna Westby led Rock Ridge with 21 points and 12 rebounds, while Lexi Lamppa had 13 points and eight rebounds. Marshall’s Reese Drake led the game with 26 points.
Rock Ridge (24-6) will next face No. 2 Monticello (29-1) in the consolation semifinals Thursday, March 13 at 4 p.m. at the Gangelhoff Center. For the full Class AAA bracket, click here.
