Saints start strong in game two to earn series split with Augsburg baseball

The College of St. Scholastica (CSS) baseball team split their home Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) doubleheader with Augsburg University Wednesday at Wade Stadium.
The Saints dropped a close game one 5-4, then came out strong in game two tallying three runs in the first two innings to eventually earn a 7-4 victory.
In game one CSS was led by Kyle Oswald with two runs, three hits and two RBI. Mitchell Novak led game two with one run, two hits, and two RBI while pitcher Grant Taival threw seven strikeouts.
CSS (7-24) hosts Hamline University for their regular season series finale Saturday. First pitches for the Senior Day doubleheader are set for 1 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. at Wade Stadium.
