Schultz commits to UW-River Falls, Westby heads to Minnesota-Crookston
Wisconsin 8-Man player of the year Jared Schultz is off to UW-River Falls, while Rock Ridge’s Anna Westby has decided on her next steps as well, as she’ll be heading to the University of Minnesota-Crookston to continue her basketball career.
Schultz is coming off of one of the best seasons in recent memory. The senior quarterback and linebacker did it all this fall, helping the Evergreens to a state semifinal and a 10-1 overall record. In those 11 games, he threw for 1,513 yards and 21 touchdowns. On the ground, he rushed for 2,015 yards and 35 touchdowns, and even managed one receiving touchdown.
Westby earned all-state honorable mention honors last season, and was an integral part to the Wolverines, especially on their run to the state tournament. Westby posted just over 18 points per game. Westby and the Wolverines have started their season right where they left off, starting 2-0 and looking to make it 3-0 when they head to North Branch on Friday.
